Civil Engineering is mainly concerned with design, creation and maintenance of infrastructure facilities in the built and natural environmental surrounding us. There is a growing need for innovation in civil engineering to build infrastructure projects that are economical, safe, maintenance friendly and energy efficient. B.E in Civil engineering is designed to produce efficient civil engineers to meet present day challenges. The program of study among others includes: Structural Engineering, Concrete Technology, Transportation engineering, Water supply & Sanitary Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics & Machinery, Structural Mechanics, Hydrology, water Resource & Irrigation Engineering Department of Civil Engineering Course Title: Under Graduate: Engineering Duration: 8 Semesters: 4 Years Affiliation: VTU, Approved by AICTE Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2011 with an intake of 60 and in the year 2014, intake was enhanced to 120. Department has well qualified & experienced teaching faculties and technical staffs with state of art laboratories to offer good practical training as per the academic requirements of VTU. Civil Engineering department of GMIT aims at developing analytical & Experimental skills in students to apply in various fields of civil engineering.
