About Electronics and Communication Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2011. The department offers Under graduate and post graduate program B.E. in Mechanical Engineering has an intake of 60 students, M.Tech in Product Design and Manufacturing with the intake of 15 students. The Department offers research programmes leading to M.Sc.(Engg) and Ph.D. affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. The Department has qualified and experienced faculty members with doctoral degrees. Faculty has published more than 100 research articles in the reputed Journals and Conference proceedings. The Department is driven by the dynamics of technological advances and sustainable development with active involvement of industry, alumni and research activities, in the area of Composite Materials, Fuels and Lubricants and Fracture Mechanics. The students of the department have a good placement record.


Empowering students with Mechanical Engineering concepts and to expertise the skills of implementing and managing advance technologies ethically for rural and national socio-economical development with human values.


  1. To instigate basic concepts of Mechanical Engineering through innovative teaching and learning process with hands on experience.
  2. To generate thought in students to develop innovative ideas, decision making, problem solving skill sets and feasible technological solutions for rural and agricultural sectors.
  3. To provide platform to imbibe advance technologies to bridge the gap between academic and industrial requirements with entrepreneurial aspects considering conventional and Non conventional energy sources.
  4. To promote research and development activities to achieve new heights in ones career by inculcating ethical values

Associate Professor & Head, ME.

  • Apply principles and demonstrate the basic knowledge of science, mathematics, material science, machine design, manufacturing, thermal engineering and management to solve mechanical engineering and interdisciplinary problems.
  • Analyze, synthesize, evaluate and control the mechanical operations using various statistical tools and techniques as well as the laboratory experiences for developing efficient mechanical systems.
