About Computer Science & Engineering Department


Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2011 with the primary objective of providing total quality education in the field of Computer Science and Engineering to meet the challenges in emerging trends by producing quality professionals. The department has excellent infrastructure facilities with a variety of operating platforms to prepare the professional students to conquer the demands of the IT industry, R&D organizations and computer related areas. The Department offers an excellent academic environment with a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculties.

About Artificial intelligence and Machine learning Department


The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineering at GMIT was started in the academic year 2022 offering an undergraduate program with an intake of 60 students per year. The field of artificial intelligence has been an interdisciplinary endeavour, requiring deep knowledge of both computational and human sciences. Machine learning is an application of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning focuses on the development of computer programs that can access data and use it learn for themselves. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are changing whole businesses and sectors by utilizing data to make choices. AI and machine learning are paving the way for tomorrow’s living, from self-driving vehicles to Google Brain. Businesses may benefit from data-driven intelligence thanks to cross-cutting techniques, algorithms, and deep learning neural networks. Learning the fundamental principles of machine learning and deep learning, including supervised and unsupervised learning, while pursuing a B.E. in artificial intelligence and machine learning with advanced learning solutions. Students will specialize in building intelligent systems, software, and apps to solve a specific problem. Advancements in machine learning and deep learning are creating a paradigm shift in virtually every sector of the tech industry. Moreover, the growing impact of AI on society demands that graduates are capable and ethical collaborators, able to ensure the safe and effective adoption of new technologies across domains. The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Engineering has well qualified and motivated faculty members who are highly committed to the overall development of the students. Along with the regular curriculum, the Department organizes various guest-lectures/invited talks by eminent faculty from reputed institutions/industry experts to keep students up-to-date about the latest technological developments.

About Computer science and Design (CSD) Department


The Department of Computer Science & Design was established at GMIT in 2024 with an intake of 60. Computer Science and Design (CSD) aims to develop students experienced with computing approaches, tools, and technologies, Design approaches and new Digital Media technologies. The program has a set of core courses in Computer Science and Design, and many electives which can be taken from Computer Science as well as Design and Digital Media. The program will prepare students to work in the IT industry as well as the digital media industry like gaming, animation, virtual/augmented reality, etc. The program will also allow students, who want to pursue higher studies in Computer Science / Information Technology or in Design. Computer Science and Design is in high demand across the globe in the current era. The students will have the ability to design creative solutions in areas such as animation, AI powered gaming, virtual reality and augmented reality etc. This graduation programme combines core design courses with solid programming underpinnings. This programme prepares students for a variety of careers in disciplines such as entertainment, arts, games, digital analytics, mobile application development, web/product design, cyber security, multimedia, and other interactive industries around the world. The first year of study is identical to all engineering branches, and the remaining years of study comprise core subjects and its electives.
